Throughout the Southwest region we offer a wide range of flying experiences which can either be enjoyed yourself or given as unusual and thoroughly memorable gifts. Whether you are interested in motorised flight or more relaxing alternatives you will find a superb range of air activities available.
Take for instance our microlight experiences. Microlighting is all about being in touch with the skies around you. The aircraft are fully open to the elements and give you a wonderful feeling of freedom and openness. Flights take place from our airfield near Dunkerswell on the Devon / Somerset border and last either 30 minutes or 60 minutes. Under the guidance of a highly qualified instructor, you can take the controls and see just how versatile and manoeuvrable these aircraft are.
Helicopter flying lessons also make very popular flying experience gifts. We operate our chopper flying activities from either Bournemouth in Dorset or from Dunkerswell in Devon. Flights range from 30 to 60 minutes and once again you will be under the careful guidance of highly experienced instructors as you take to the skies and learn how these incredible machines operate. Views are spectacular through the huge glass canopies and whether you choose Devon or Dorset you can be assured of stunning scenery on your flight. For those interested in just sitting back and enjoying the ride we offer a unique Jurassic Coast helicopter experience for two people. Your exclusive flight includes a 20 mile stretch of the magnificent World Heritage coastline between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis experiencing views that very few people will ever witness.
Glider flying is a whole different experience altogether. From the moment you arrive at the charming little airfield nestled among the hills and meadows of North Devon, you will be made extremely welcome. Immediately you can get involved by helping other flights get airborne. When it´s your turn you will be given a full safety brief before taking the front seat of your dual controlled glider. Behind you will be one of the country´s most senior and experienced instructors, however, the flying will all up to you if you choose. The tug plane accelerates down the airfield and suddenly you are up and away. At the correct altitude you will be given the command to release and as you pull the tow lever you will bank right and you are away, enjoying the peace and tranquillity as your glider soars and swoops on the thermals.
For those nostalgic types, nothing can beat the roar of a 12 cylinder Tiger Moth engine. These vintage World War 2 open cockpit aircraft are as iconic as they are pure delight to fly. Your instructor will take off and land but then if you want to you can take the controls yourself and experience aerobatics as well as the sheer thrill of flying a bi-plane.
Other South West flying experiences we offer include graceful hot air balloon flights, thrilling skydiving & parachuting experiences and stomach churning aerobatic flights.
